¡¡The
Woodpecker® CNC engraving machine Sai-O 2 control systems
is based on the Microsoft Windows 98® or Windows 2000®
operating systems. The multi functions are simple to learn
and operate. Compared with the traditional CNC systems,
the Sai-O 2 is a more open, multi-tasking system and can
be easily set up in a network environment.
This system
retains all the functions of traditional CNC systems,
plus the additional features of 3D tracking, automatic
detection of the cutting tools, break point memory, rotating
axis, procedure jumps and other high level functions.
The system is compatible with multiple types of input
devices and data feeds including standard G code and HPGL.
It can interface directly with CASMATE®, MASTERCAM®,
UG® and other commonly used CAD/CAM software. It can
also interface with two dimensional design software applications
such as AutoCAD® and CorelDraw®. Sai-O 2 works
on two or three axis and may expand to multiple axes to
satisfy the user requirements.
Note:
This article quotes MS Windows 98® or MS Windows 2000®
software, CASMATE®, MASTERCAM®, UG®, AutoCAD®,
CorelDraw® which are all registered trademarks of
their respective companies.
Advanced
Interface
The system
is controlled via a standard keyboard and mouse. Processing
of the work can be tracked on the monitor in a three dimensional
view. Ease of operation, direct viewing of the work in
process and simple search commands for the processing
files makes these a very user friendly system.
Complete G and PLT instruction
support
To fully
support the G instruction set, it has the complete G and
M instruction collection. PLT format is also supported.
The user may directly output PLT format from programs
such as AutoCAD® software for use in the system. Compilation
of the G and M instructions is extremely fast and precise.
The
auto adapt speed algorithm
In traditional CNC system, between
two G instructions, link up speed usually is a fixed value.
In this system, an advanced processing speed adaptive
prediction algorithm is used. This algorithm uses the
speed, the size, the direction, the maximum accelerating
speed, as well as a forecast function. The auto adapt
speed algorithm links the speed to the next instruction.
This increases the processing efficiency (approximately
from 30% to 300%), moreover it improves the workability
and helps decrease surface grain imperfections.
Three
dimensional simulation display function
The three-dimensional simulation
function, displays in real time, the tool path and can
be revolved in three-dimensional space with an enlargement
and reduction feature. The user can from any angle observe
the three-dimensional processing results, which provides
a more accurate view of the results.
High
speed simulation function
Can perform a fast simulation of
the processing procedure. The processing path can also
be simulated in an extremely short period of time and
the results can be viewed from a three-dimensional angle.
Simultaneously, the user may also analyze the processing
data for accuracy and determine the actual processing
time needed, processing scope, cutting tool service conditions
and so on.
Automatic
function
Manual Data Input (MDI) function, break point memory,
step-by-step function, ability to jump to other operations.
These functions help the user fix any potential errors
and obstacle. The controller also has a function to recall
the original starting point while working at each axis.
Convenient,
complete manual function
Also supports input devices, like
a joystick and the electronic hand wheel, which along
with a keyboard and mouse allow complete operation of
the system.
The Woodpecker®
CNC engraving machine Sai-O 2 control system increases
the functionality of the original system. Enhancements
include original starting point memory, large G command
file, system diagnosis, operation diary, immediate processing
document management, speed regulation, main spindle speed
control, high-level MDI and so on. All these functions
allow for simple and complete control of the CNC engraving
machine.
